Art is my lifelong passion.

I can't remember a time when I was not drawing or painting. Growing up in the 50's without a lot of television and Internet, I had my books. A set of encyclopedias where I could look up the word "art" . I would sit and memorize the paintings, looking carefully at each one, trying to understand what the artist was thinking when he created it. Each one held a mystery to be solved, an unspoken story that needed to be finished.

Growing up as an artist, I began to write my own stories. Bits of life that cross my path become my drawings and paintings. I diligently translate and interpret my various subject matter. Depicting each detail, I bring the object into focus, allowing one to see it as if it were for the first time, from a new perspective. I like taking an ordinary object and giving it a passion, an energy that was not seen before.

Combining elements such as realistic faces, landscapes, found objects or graphic elements, I contrast these with each other, developing a different context to the work. My images tell stories with their layers of elements, creating its very own narrative.

The hundreds of objects in my studio become elements, capturing the “voice” of the work. Drawn in by the depth and richness, the compositions are woven together producing art that is tapestry-like in its richness.

With an extensive background in both graphic and fine art, and degrees in Art History and Art Education, I possess a wide perspective from which to draw. I tend to pull inspiration from each, so that my work has references to various art styles and techniques that blend into one image.

Additionally, I have 30 years of industry experience in the field of advertising, and I presently work as the Art Director for Full Throttle Intermedia, a company I
co-own in New Tampa.

As an artist, I also continue to create personal and commissioned pieces in acrylic, oil, colored pencil and multimedia collage. Many are in private collections nationwide. Check out my gallery on this site. Also, a sampling of my awards and exhibitions are listed below.
